Takeoff and
landing videos from Hardwick runway one—three and three—one,
not in a B-24 Liberator
but something just as cramped .... a Van's
RV-9A.

Takeoff
from runway three—one (31).
Runway 3-1 heads northwest
over the village of Fritton and the Three Nags pub run by Jimmy
and Daisy Elmar during WWII.
(See Preller's
site for more about the pub. (The site is no longer maintained).
Jimmy
and Daisy Elmar were my grandparents. They and my mother
Joan told stories of nights when the skies were filled
with aircraft and how often the timber-framed pub shook
as damaged low-flying aircraft limped back to Hardwick.
I had the good fortune to fly the route over Fritton
and back in Nov 2011. See opposite. The village and pub
can be seen at about 2 mins 15 secs.
See also the 'off-camp' page.

Landing
on runway one—three (13).
Thanks to Kelvin Woodard and
his home-built aircraft, without whom these videos would not
have been possible.
