Hardwick USAAF Airfield.

Nearly all the buildings have gone as well as the runways. Runway 13-31 is still there and still in use by private pilots for light aircraft. There is also a small commercial airstrip to the east near the museum. At present the local landowners are sympathetic to the use of aircraft and the museum.The museum is housed in a former accommodation area to the east of the main runways. I took off and landed on runway 13 (one three) in Oct 2012 to fly from the airfield and over the home of my ancestors and follow the routes that many US airmen would have done.
